Highlands Therapist Completes LGBT Affirmative Psychotherapy Training

Eating Disorders have been historically labeled as a white, heterosexual, female disease. In truth, Eating Disorders affect people of all genders, races, ethnicity and sexual orientation. Some preliminary research suggests that Eating Disorders disproportionately affect those from the LGBT community. Factors such as unique life stressors, strained family relationships, cultural and community pressures, and childhood bullying may be factors in this disproportionate relationship. The Highlands will Soon Celebrate Grand Opening Event

The Highlands Treatment Center is preparing for our official Grand opening event on Nov. 13th, 2013, which will commemorate our August 2013 opening.  On that day, from 10:00 am to noon, we will celebrate with a ribbon cutting ceremony, hors d’oeuvres, and a tour of our facility. All of The Highlands staff will be in attendance, as well as the local mayor, and Castlewood’s CEO, Nancy Albus.
